Student Code of Conduct

Love Yoga & Pilates Studio is a safe and welcoming space for all individuals, regardless of race, color, religion, culture, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, body type, disability, or citizenship. We ask that students practice all aspects of yoga, including the Yamas and Niyamas (the ethical principles of yoga): non-harming, truthfulness, non-stealing, moderation, non-possessiveness, cleanliness, contentment, discipline, self-study, and surrender.

Check ego at the door. The studio is not a place to show your superhuman strength, nor is it a place to compete with others or yourself. Remember we are here to honor our bodies where they are today. Yoga is an internal practice for everyone.

Be mindful of your space. Due to the limited number of spaces, some classes will be packed, we ask that always be courteous in making room for others who join the class. Be aware of your body and props when coming into, out of, and holding poses, if you need the wall or a prop for balance or support, please use it so you don’t fall and hurt yourself or someone else.

Practice saucha, cleanliness, by coming to classes clean and free of odor, including strong perfumes, essential oils, or other scents.

  • Do not bring food to the studio.

  • Do not come to the studio if you or people in your household are sick.

  • Clean props after use and place them back where, and as, you found them.

  • Studio doors open 10 minutes before class is scheduled to start. Classes begin promptly on time and pre-registered late arrivals of more than three minutes will not be admitted.

  • Be mindful of voice levels in the studio. Some students use the time before class starts for quiet reflection.

  • Please refrain from using your cellphone inside the studio. Make sure cell phones are turned off or muted if brought into the building. Let your instructor know if you are expecting an important call and need to have your phone nearby.

  • Disruptive behavior is not welcome. This includes speaking loudly during class, checking your phone/texts, or taking unauthorized photographs/video.
